Itinerary

Day 1 Day 1 The Arctic Experience Begins!
Pick-up in the morning in the center of Reykjavík. On the way to the North West, we will experience places to the North of Reykjavik, an area know as Borgarfirði. Places with names like Hraunfossar and Barnafoss waterfalls. We visit Deildartunguhver, the largest natural hot spring in the world, with a flow rate of 180 liters per second. You can climb the Grábrók volcano crater on the road towards the North-West fjords. We stay at Hella Guestfarm at the edge of Steingrimsfjördur for the next 2 nights. After settling in, it is time to contemplate the evenings Aurora Borealis hunt and come up with a plan. Your guide will off course be an integral part of this mission. Dinner at an opportune time.
Day 2 Day 2 West Fjords
You will spend the day around Steingrímsfjörður. Holmavík is the largest village in the Strandir region ( large means barely 400 inhabitants!). It has a surprising museum of witchcraft and black magic, very vivid in this part of the island in the 17th century (entry included). In Dransgnes, you have the opportunity to relax in the municipal hot tubs with stunning views of the fjord. In the bay of Hveravík you will discover a source of natural hot water. Opportunity to see the northern lights from the hot baths? More Norther Lights hunting!
Day 3 Day 3 The Long Way Back
We leave the fjord in the morning and set off for Snæfellsnes. Snæfellsnes is a 90 km long peninsula which is often considered as Iceland in a nutshell. In fact, by making the tour, you discover at the same time old and recent lava fields, the high cliffs of Arnarstapi, the black beach of Djúpalónssandur, the colored farms and the fishing villages in activity (Stykkisholmur, Grundarfjörður, Olafsvik), all dominated by the Snæfellsjökull volcano. Hoping to catch the Northern Lights a last time before arriving in Reykjavík at the end of the day.

Reviews

Unbelievable! Lost in Iceland, off the beaten track. No crowds, almost like we got it for ourselves. The green afterglow of the Auroras, fantastic! Highly recommended. 2020-02-26 14:12
